{fill in the blank friday}

Happy Friday!

This fill in the blank really makes me want to climb back into bed & sleep all day long!

1. The last thing I do before going to sleep is kiss my hubby .

2. When I can't sleep I it probably cause I have a million things going through my mind .

3. The first thing I do when I wake up is use the bathroom .

4. When I'm tired I am super crabby .

5. My dream bedroom would be fulling with blues & greens & a huge comfy bed.

6. If I could wake up anywhere tomorrow morning it would be on a beach, ready to soak up the sun, relax & sip frozen drinks all day .

7. The longest sleep I've ever had was probably when I sleep all day after I got my wisdom teeth out .

{shop update}

It has been a bit since I have updated my little shop. My poor little shop has been sitting there, alone & unattended as I have been putting in long hours at work & spending my free time working on my website & making goods to fill it with & take to a craft fair.

But I did spare a few moments yesterday to update my shop & fix up my listings & fill it with some adorable models! =)

Go check them & see all the new styles I've added! =)

I know summer is actually almost half over but I never got a chance to update my purse for the summer season & now I am craving some of these lovelies from Aldo...

It's never to late to get a new purse right?!

{wishing it was friday}

I could use some of these today to make me feel better.

I've already worked over 20 hrs this week & it's not even halfway through the week! I have been so busy at work & getting ready for my first craft fair & finishing up my website that I am so exhausted & could use a yummy treat.

Or a back rub...
(wink wink hubby =)

How is your week going?

{feature:Trisha}

Good morning everyone! I hope you had a great weekend!

Today, I want you all to meet Trisha!

I am Trisha, 28 (turning 29 next month). I am obsessed with everything cute, Steampunk, crafting, zombie movies and vidoe games. I have four adorable pet rates who are my babies, I like books, movies, TV shoes & just having fun with my friends and boyfriend. Oh and at night, I'm fighting crime as a superhero :D
My goal is to finally graduate from University and build my own little Steampunk empire afterwards, haha. And I want to be happy with everything I do!

What inspires you most?
I get inspired by everything- by books and movis, vintage clothing or jewelry, by the very very creative gothic subculture, by fellow Steampuck artist etc. But most of all I get inspiration from my supplies. I love trying out new things, assembling and building them. I let my supplies speak to me, we often argue *haha*.

{letting my hair down}

Today I wore my hair down.

This is a very rare occasion.

Even my husband was surprised to see it down. He sees me with my hair up, either curly, wet or straight.

I'm sad to see the weekend end.

{30 Day Journal Challenge}

This morning I realized I haven't posted the rest of my journal.
Well, here it is...

Day 18: Create a play list

Well...I really don't listen to a lot of music, I really just watch a lot of TV! When I do listen to music, it's just when I'm working out so I guess this is my workout play list.

Day 19: Create guide to your city

I love my city! =)

Day 20: What's in your bag?

Of course, I never leave home without my wallet & Iphone, but I also leave the house with my sunglasses, markers if I feel the need to doodle, chapstick, a flashlight to read in the dark, my planner, kleenex, bobby pins, makeup & lotion.

Day 21: What is your favorite quote?

My fave quote is Live Everyday to the Fullest.

Day 22: What is your favorite holiday?

Of course mine is Christmas!

Day 23: Use an element of art.

I went with color.

Day 24: What is your favorite place?

My fave place is my bed =) I love to sleep, I love to snuggle & I love to read. My bed is the most comfy place to do all those =)

Day 25: Describe today

IT IS SOO HOT OUTSIDE TODAY!

Day 26: Share a recipe

Milk + Ice Cream = Yummy Milkshake!

Day 27: What would you change if you could?

I would quit my day job if I could! I would love to be able to spend the whole day crafting rather then working! =)

Day 28: What do you look forward to?

I'm looking forward to being a bridesmaid again, attending & throwing some showers & doing my first craft fair.

Day 29: Write a letter to yourself

Day 30: What have you done to get closer to accomplishing your goals?

I had so much fun doing this challenge...it makes me want to whip one up! What do you think? Would anyone be interested in trying out a challenge like this?? I know I LOVED it!

{wednesday wish list}

I adore this lovely arrangement from Flores Del Sol...I think it would add a nice pop of color in my bedroom =)

{how to:crochet bowl}

Yesterday I whipped up this super cute yarn bowl to add hold some of my fake roses so I thought I would share it with you!

It was so super simply & can be whipped up in under a half hour.

First off, I used two super thick stands of yarn...like 8 regular stands worth. It will make your bowl thicker & will make it stand easier. I also used a P sized hook.

Step 1-Start out by making an adjustable ring with 4 sc on it.
Step 2-In the next row, 2 sc in each sc across (8 sc total)
Step 3-In the next row, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc...repeat until the end of row (12 sc total)
Step 4-In the next row, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc...repeat until the end of the row (18 sc total)
Step 5-In the next row, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc...repeat until the end of the row
(27 sc total)
Step 6-In the next row, sc in each sc across (27 sc total) Repeat 2 more times.

If you would like to make a bigger bowl, you can repeat Step 5 a few more times.

It makes a great addition to my coffee table & can also be a great gift.

{feature:Louana}

I'm so excited to introduce to you Louana! She makes THE cutest creatures!

My name is Louana and I’m 29 years old. I live in Japan but I’m originally from the Netherlands. I’ve also lived in Belgium and Atlanta, GA and this summer I’m moving to San Francisco, CA!!

Right now, I’m a full time English teacher at a private English school in Osaka, where I sometimes get to teach a sewing class for special occasions. Most recently, I taught my students how to sew hearts and kisses for Valentine’s, that was really fun. In my free time, I spend time sightseeing and relaxing with my boyfriend Yasu, and I sew as many little eleventh monkey creatures as I can.

I have a lot of hobbies. I love taking pictures and saving memories, love going to concerts, love reading, love blogging, love traveling, love watching movies.

But now my biggest hobby is ‘eleventh monkey’. I’ve always enjoyed being creative, but it took me a while to find a craft that really suited me. I finally got inspired to make little felt creatures during a trip to a creative neighborhood in Seoul last year, and ever since then I’ve been obsessed!

I’m also obsessed with the United States, since I can remember. I think because I watched to many exciting American movies and TV shows as a little girl. My dream goal is to run my own little creative shop, while raising a family with my Japanese man, in America. So naturally, I’m very excited about our big move to San Francisco in a few months!

What inspires you most?
Things I see around me, advertisements, cartoon images, materials for sale in craft stores, blogs, people’s accessories, colorful displays in shop windows and so on. I’m always taking pictures with my iPhone to remember all the inspiring things I’ve seen. I have a million ideas swimming around in my head and drawn in my sketchbook. I really hope I’ll have more time in the future so that I can bring all these ideas to life!

What are your top 5 fave blogs/sites?

This woman is amazing, she is a human lie detector and her evaluation of criminal cases and its suspects are fascinating. She also once read my face from a few pictures and made dozens of correct statements about my personality that just astonished me!

I love taking pictures, and saving all my memories in one place on the web. Flickr is really great for that.

I’m really bad at keeping in touch via email, it takes so much time and I procrastinate too much. On Facebook I can easily keep in touch with friends from all over the world at the same time! I love it!

I don’t watch Japanese TV because I don’t understand Japanese. So I often watch Youtube videos when I’m sewing or cleaning.

Elsie Flanagan is so inspiring. I dream of one day being as successful as her and to have my own brick and mortar shop to display and sell my creations and more.

Where can we find more of you?

What are you current projects?

Right now, most of my time is spent on preparing for our move to San Francisco. There are so many things to organize, think of and do, it’s a little overwhelming. But it’s all worth it, it just doesn’t leave much time for me to sew.
So for now, decisions on which animals to create are inspired by people around me, like departing friends and coworkers, marrying couples and birthdays. I try to find out their favorite animals, start sketching and designing and then I sew them a handmade gift.
And if I have time I sew a second one to put in my Etsy shop. One little animal takes me on average 6 hours to hand sew, and I work a full time job here in Japan, so I’m not very productive right now. But things will change after moving to America this summer. I have so many ideas, sometimes it feels like my head is on overload. I can’t wait to start working on them!

I hope you all enjoyed getting to know Louana as much as I did! Now go check out her shop!

{don't drink the water}

Seriously! There must be something in the water because there are either crawling babies everywhere or mamas-to-be ready to pop!

With the arrival of all these babies, it makes me want to whip up a few all some of these adorable baby blankets!
Baby Decke Nuria

Have a great Monday!
